MSQ Series Pneumatic Rotary Table
The MSQ Series Pneumatic Rotary Table combines a double-acting rotary actuator, bearing-supported output table and adjustable rotation mechanism in one compact unit.
It is designed for applications requiring controlled angular movement, component turning, fixture indexing, workpiece transfer or direction changes within automated machinery. The integrated mounting table allows a lightweight fixture, gripper or workpiece holder to be installed directly on the actuator.
MSQ rotary tables are available in sizes from 10 to 200, with a maximum rotation of 190 degrees. Customers can select either an adjustable-angle screw with rubber bumpers or an internal shock absorber for higher kinetic-energy applications.
Key Features
Compact Rotary Table Design
The actuator, output bearing and mounting table are integrated into one compact body. This reduces the number of separate components required to create a rotary mechanism.
Adjustable Rotation Angle
The working angle can be adjusted from:
0 to 190 degrees
This allows the actuator to be configured for common movements such as:
- 45-degree turning
- 90-degree indexing
- 135-degree positioning
- 180-degree reversing
- Customized intermediate angles
Maximum Rotation of 190 Degrees
The additional adjustment range beyond 180 degrees provides room for accurately setting the required stopping positions.
Two Cushion Configurations
Customers can choose between:
- A type: Adjustable angle screws with rubber bumpers
- R type: Internal shock absorbers
The A type is suitable for general rotary applications with moderate load energy. The R type provides greater kinetic-energy absorption for faster or heavier rotating loads.
Integrated Magnetic Piston
All models include a magnet as standard. Compatible auto switches can be mounted externally to detect the rotary table’s end positions.
Multiple Port Locations
End and side ports provide greater flexibility when routing pneumatic tubing inside compact machinery.
Broad Size Range
Available sizes include:
- MSQ10
- MSQ20
- MSQ30
- MSQ50
- MSQ70
- MSQ100
- MSQ200
Non-Lubricated Operation
The specified working medium is non-lubricated compressed air, simplifying air preparation and routine maintenance.

The maximum operating pressure of a shock-absorber model is restricted by the allowable thrust and operating limits of the shock absorber.
Minimum Operating Pressure
Basic Type
The listed minimum operating pressure for the basic MSQ Series is:
0.1 MPa
High-Precision Type
Size | Minimum Operating Pressure |
10 | 0.2 MPa |
20 | 0.1 MPa |
30 | 0.1 MPa |
50 | 0.1 MPa |
70 | 0.1 MPa |
100 | 0.1 MPa |
200 | Not specified |
Actual pressure requirements may be higher because of rotating load, bearing resistance, acceleration, tube length and pneumatic-system pressure loss.
Piston Bore
MSQ Size | Piston Bore |
10 | Ø15 mm |
20 | Ø18 mm |
30 | Ø21 mm |
50 | Ø25 mm |
70 | Ø28 mm |
100 | Ø32 mm |
200 | Ø40 mm |
The piston-bore dimension should not be used alone to calculate guaranteed rotary torque. Use the manufacturer’s size-specific torque data when finalizing an application.
Air Port Sizes
End Ports
MSQ Size | End-Port Size |
10 | M5 × 0.8 |
20 | M5 × 0.8 |
30 | G1/8 |
50 | G1/8 |
70 | G1/8 |
100 | G1/8 |
200 | G1/8 |
Side Ports
The supplied specification lists:
M5 × 0.8 side ports
Confirm the required port location and plug arrangement before installation.
Allowable Kinetic Energy
The allowable kinetic energy depends on the selected stopping mechanism.
MSQ Size | With Adjustment Bolts | With Internal Shock Absorbers |
10 | 7 mJ | 39 mJ |
20 | 25 mJ | 116 mJ |
30 | 48 mJ | 116 mJ |
50 | 81 mJ | 294 mJ |
70 | 240 mJ | 1100 mJ |
100 | 320 mJ | 1600 mJ |
200 | 560 mJ | 2900 mJ |
The shock-absorber versions can absorb considerably more kinetic energy than the adjustment-bolt versions.
Do not select a rotary table solely according to torque. The rotating load’s kinetic energy must also remain below the allowable value.
Stable Rotation-Time Adjustment Range
Rotation time is stated in seconds per 90 degrees.
MSQ Size | With Adjustment Bolts | With Internal Shock Absorbers |
10 | 0.2–1.0 s/90° | 0.2–0.7 s/90° |
20 | 0.2–1.0 s/90° | 0.2–0.7 s/90° |
30 | 0.2–1.0 s/90° | 0.2–0.7 s/90° |
50 | 0.2–1.0 s/90° | 0.2–0.7 s/90° |
70 | 0.2–1.5 s/90° | 0.2–1.0 s/90° |
100 | 0.2–2.0 s/90° | 0.2–1.0 s/90° |
200 | 0.2–2.5 s/90° | 0.2–1.0 s/90° |
Operating outside the recommended time range may cause unstable movement, excessive impact, insufficient cushioning or reduced service life.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an MSQ pneumatic rotary table?
It is a compact pneumatic actuator that converts linear piston movement into controlled rotary motion. It also includes a bearing-supported mounting table for attaching a load or fixture.
What sizes are available?
The available sizes are 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 100 and 200.
What is the maximum rotation angle?
The maximum rotation angle is 190 degrees.
Can the rotation angle be adjusted?
Yes. The catalog specifies an adjustment range from 0 to 190 degrees.
What is the difference between A and R types?
The A type uses adjustable stop screws and rubber bumpers. The R type uses internal shock absorbers and supports higher kinetic energy.
What is the maximum operating pressure?
The A type is rated up to 1.0 MPa. The R type is limited to 0.6 MPa.
Does the MSQ include a magnet?
Yes. The ordering guide specifies that the series is always supplied with a magnetic piston.
Are auto switches included?
A magnet is included, but the supplied document does not confirm that external switches are included. Specify the required switch model and quantity when ordering.
Does the actuator require lubrication?
The specified working medium is non-lubricated compressed air.
What is the operating-temperature range?
The specified range is 0°C to 60°C, with no freezing permitted.
Can the MSQ rotate continuously?
No. It is a limited-angle reciprocating rotary actuator with a maximum rotation of 190 degrees. It is not a continuously rotating air motor.
Can the table carry an offset load?
An offset load may be possible within the allowable moment and bearing capacity. Obtain the model-specific load limits before final selection.
Why is kinetic energy important?
The stopping mechanism must absorb the energy of the rotating load. Excessive kinetic energy can damage the stops, shock absorbers or bearings.
Can the R type operate at 1.0 MPa?
No. The supplied specification limits the shock-absorber version to 0.6 MPa.
Can the actuator use water, oil or another gas?
The specified medium is compressed air. Other media require separate material and seal compatibility verification.
